The story

Infinito is carved from a solid block of porous grey travertine, its tapered cone shaped by hand until the surface reads like solidified sand. A slender steel cylinder rises from the centre, holding branches or light — stone and metal in a single vertical gesture that draws the eye upward without ever finding a finish.

Form and proportion

Proportion is integral to the design of Infinito. In the listed format — Ø 70 × H 45 cm — the design considers the low proportion, the carved volume and the way the table relates to nearby seating. The grey travertine and steel and honed finish are not additions to the form: they make its volumes, surfaces and the natural movement of the stone legible.

For a bespoke version, diameter and height, stone selection, steel or stone cylinder and honed or polished finish can be considered together. The conversation begins with the space and desired proportion, then develops through dialogue, drawing and proportion studies in close exchange with the workshop. Each choice is treated as part of one composition, allowing the piece to respond to its setting without losing the gesture that defines Infinito.
