The story
Rotondo pairs turned marble with mouth-blown glass: a solid volume of veined Carrara stone, carved with a precise cylindrical channel, holds a slender glass vessel. Half-round and rectangular variants let the same gesture rest low on a table or rise against the wall — a quiet composition of weight and transparency.
Form and proportion
Proportion is integral to the design of Rotondo. In the listed format — H 30 × Ø 12 cm — the design considers the object’s scale, its carved volume and the relationship between the stone and the surface on which it is placed. The carrara marble and glass and polished finish are not additions to the form: they make its volumes, surfaces and the natural movement of the stone legible.
For a bespoke version, height and diameter, stone selection, glass shape and polished or honed finish can be considered together. The conversation begins with the space and desired proportion, then develops through dialogue, drawing and proportion studies in close exchange with the workshop. Each choice is treated as part of one composition, allowing the piece to respond to its setting without losing the gesture that defines Rotondo.
