TRIGONUS: A Sculptural Freestanding Bookcase in Italian Yellow Onyx
Designed by Studio IB Milano, TRIGONUS brings together pure geometry, natural stone and Italian craftsmanship. This custom freestanding bookcase creates a place for books, art objects and personal collections while giving the room a distinct sculptural presence.
Presented here in Italian yellow onyx, TRIGONUS explores the relationship between precise architectural lines and the natural character of stone.
01
The Character of Italian Yellow Onyx
Creamy tones and golden veining give yellow onyx its distinctive warmth. Across the bookcase, variations in colour and pattern introduce movement to the geometric form.
Each selection of stone creates a different expression of TRIGONUS. The design remains recognisable, while its surface carries a pattern that cannot be repeated exactly. This individuality is central to Studio IB Milano’s approach to bespoke stone furniture.
02
A Place for Your Collection
TRIGONUS offers space for the objects you choose to live with: architecture books, a small sculpture, a ceramic vessel or a meaningful find.
Its freestanding form allows it to become part of different interior settings, from a private study or living room to an entrance hall or boutique hospitality space. The open composition keeps the objects on display visible, allowing the bookcase and its contents to be considered together.
03
A Bespoke Marble or Onyx Bookcase
Handcrafted in Italy and made to order, TRIGONUS is available in a choice of marble or onyx, with bespoke dimensions available on request.
The choice of stone can bring a quieter or more expressive character to the piece. Colour, veining and proportions can be considered in relation to the surrounding materials and the needs of the space.
Designed by Ina Borisova for Studio IB Milano, TRIGONUS reflects the studio’s focus on sculptural furniture, pure lines and the individual beauty of natural stone.
