Marble as a Couture Material
Like precious textiles in fashion, marble carries its own character. Every block contains unique veining, colour variations and traces formed over millions of years. These natural characteristics cannot be perfectly reproduced, making each creation inherently one of a kind.
Working with marble requires both technical knowledge and sensitivity. The designer must understand the possibilities of the material without imposing a form that contradicts its nature. The artisan then interprets that vision through cutting, shaping, polishing and finishing.
At Studio IB Milano, marble is approached as a living material rather than a decorative surface. Pieces are sculpted from solid blocks to create continuous lines, pure volumes and monolithic forms. The objective is not to disguise the weight of the stone, but to reveal an unexpected sense of softness and movement within it.
